This piece is inspired by the beauty that comes from looking from down underneath to find real beauty. Light streams from above, creating bright reflections on the deep, streaky water. Strips of gloss shine across the top in my signature selective placement of the gloss, emulating a partially reflective surface. The lily pads hold their own with the slightest bit of texture. The water seems to flow through this piece, and it's almost hard to tell whether you’re looking up and through or down and under. Just like most tings in life, there’s always beauty, and your perspective only shapes how you view it, and not necessarily what it truly is.
